Coronavirus update: No trains on Sunday during 'janta curfew' No passenger trains on Janta Curfew day? Indian Railways cancels over 3,700 train services. No passenger train to begin journey from midnight to 10 pm on Sunday. Railways on Friday decided not to run any passenger trains on Sunday in view of “Janata curfew” announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The railways will stop all express/mail trains from 4 am on Sunday to till 10 pm. All suburban train services. The Indian Railways operates around 9,000 passenger trains and 3,500 mail express services each day. The on-board catering services in mail express trains are to be closed until further advice, while static units supplying meals to prepaid trains in operation, wil continue to function.
