Next Thursday will be our 36th wedding anniversary On our 30th.anniversary I gave my wife a hand written card that said " Being with you and not being with you is the only way I measure time" I always tell her and anyone that will listen to me "That if she ever leaves me , I am going with her " My 87 yr old neighbor has been married 64 yrs . We talked about life and the mystery of love He poured some water in his hand and said 'The water in my palm is like Love " ' if you keep your hand open and allow it to remain there ,it will remain " But if you close your hand around it ,and try to posses it, it will slip thru your fingers ' Trying to posses love is the biggest mistake people make with love ' They try to own it ,they demand ,they expect and like the water in my hand ,love will retreat from us " " love is meant to be free, you can not control it. It needs to be given with open, caring hands 'If there are people you love ,allow them to be free to be them . "Give and don't expect 'Support, don't order Ask ,don't demand The hardest thing to accept, is that people have only their kind of love to give , not our kind Be grateful for their kind of love However they give it Because it's a precious gift
